Services.As a speech pathologist for the last 13+ years, Kaela Gomizel is highly experienced in supporting people with complex neurological conditions. She supports swallowing, saliva and communication changes by identifying helpful strategies and supports.
Kaela has a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State University San Marcos. She migrated to Australia in 2015 and has been working in public hospitals across Melbourne. She has worked in Movement Disorders clinics, acute hospital and in NDIS services. Her most recent role at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem hospital gave her extensive experience in supporting people with progressive neurological diseases and on a palliative pathway. Additionally she worked in the NDIS service so is aware of how to navigate this system. Kaela has extensive experience in supporting clients with the following conditions:

AAC Assessment and Set UpSupporting clients to communicate using a range of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) supports. This includes low tech AAC and/or high tech AAC supports are considered, trialled and set up. Matching the client's abilities with the features that they require make this a tailored, individualised support. Ongoing support is offered to customise communication aids as needed

This is a helpful therapeutic activity aimed to provide opportunities for communication, reminiscence on life and the things that matter to you. Once created it can then be used as a conversation starter, visual resource and tool to let others know about yourself and the things that matter to you. |
